The Christian Evangelical Churches of America, Inc. (CECA), is organized under the Nonprofit Religious Corporation Law exclusively for religious purposes within the meaning of 501 C(3) of the Internal Revenue Code of 1954 and, functioning as a religious denomination includes the following:
- To establish and maintain a Christian Church, comprised of one or more local congregations, with autonomy and authority granted to reach local pastor and church council in accordance with the beliefs found in the Old and New Testaments, and to provide a place of public worship for the same in the City of Oakland, County of Alameda, State of California, and such other locations as the Denominational Board of Directors of the CECA may determine.
- To establish, maintain, and conduct schools in the City of Oakland and such other locations as the Denominational Board of the CECA may determine, at the primary, secondary or higher level, for the academic and religious instruction of the young and others, and to encourage attendance in said church and schools.
- To establish associations with Christian churches, foreign missions and educational institutions in such other locations as the directors of the corporation deem appropriate; and to license and ordain qualified candidates to the ministry to further the promulgation of the faith.
- To further other religious and charitable work in such means as the Denominational Board of Directors of the CECA deem appropriate, including evangelical outreach through the ownership and use of the media, including but not limited to radio, television, the internet, and other modern communication tools.
