A. We believe that the Old and New Testaments were inspired by God and are a complete revelation of His will for the salvation of humanity.
B. We believe in the existence of One God, who is infinitely perfect, existing eternally in three persons: The Father, The Son, and The Holy Spirit.
C. We believe that Jesus Christ was conceived of the Holy Spirit and born of the Virgin Mary. He died upon the cross, the Just for the Unjust, and all who accept Him as Savior and Lord are Justified on the ground of His shed blood. He arose from the dead according to the Scriptures.
D. We believed that the Holy Spirit is a Divine person, sent to indwell, guide, teach, and empower the Believer. Further, the Holy Spirit has been sent to convince the world of sin, of righteousness, and of judgment.
E. We believe that Adam was originally created in the image and likeness of God; he fell through disobedience, incurring thereby both physical and spiritual death. Therefore, all individuals are born with a sinful nature but can become righteous through the atoning work of the Lord Jesus Christ.
F. We believe in sanctification as a setting apart of the Believer to live a Christian life, and in the Baptism (infilling) of Holy Spirit empowering the individual for holy living and effective Christian ministry.
G. We believe in the operation of the Gifts of the Holy Spirit through the Church as recorded in 1 Corinthians 12, 13, and 14; Romans 12; Ephesians 4; and as demonstrated in the Book of Acts.
H. We believe that The Church consists of all whom by believing in the Lord Jesus Christ, are born again of the Holy Spirit. The local church is a body of Believers in Christ who are joined together for the worship of God, for edification through the Word of God, for prayer, fellowship, the proclamation of the Gospel, and observance of the ordinances of Water Baptism by immersion, and the Communion of the Lord’s Table.
I. We believe in the existence of a spirit world: of God and the heavenly beings; and of Satan and his host of demon powers.
J. We believe that there will be a bodily resurrection of the Just and of the Unjust; for the former, a resurrection unto life; for the latter, a resurrection unto judgment.
K. We believe that the “Apostle’s Creed” embodies fundamental and orthodox statements about the Christian Faith:
“I believe in God the Father Almighty, Maker of Heaven and Earth, and in Jesus Christ His only Son our Lord, who was conceived of the Holy Ghost; born of the Virgin Mary; suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, dead and buried; He descended into Hades (the Grave); the third day He rose from dead; He ascended into Heaven and sitteth on the right hand of God the Father Almighty, from thence He shall come to judge the quick and the dead. I believe in the Holy Ghost; the Church; the Communion of Saints; the forgiveness of sins; the resurrection of the body; and the life everlasting. Amen.”
L. We believe that Marriage has been ordained and instituted by God and is, therefore, a sacred rite of the Church. This church defines “marriage” as the exclusive and covenantal union of one man and one woman in which such union is a lifetime commitment. A civil government’s sanction of a union will be recognized as a legitimate marriage by the church only to the extent that it is consistent with the definition of “marriage” found in these Bylaws.
M. We believe that the second coming of the Lord Jesus Christ is imminent and it will be personal, visible, and pre-millennial.
N. Every minister, board member, employee, congregational member of the local church, student, or volunteer shall affirm their agreement with the entire Statement of Faith and shall conduct himself or herself in a manner that is consistent therewith.
